Founder, President and CEO Michael Burden's vision -- integrated design, technology, strategy, and common sense -- eventually became Interactive Remix, one of the premier new media design firms in North Carolina.

After designing his first website in 2000, Michael started doing freelance web design during his undergraduate years at North Carolina State University. What was once a hobby soon evolved into a career. The rest is history.

In His Words

As an engineer I often see things in black and white. As a designer I'm forced to remember myself that there is an entire world between black and white on the color spectrum.

Now it's still something I do for fun. It just also happens to double as my career.  The web development industry is a world full of deadlines, last minute changes, unforeseen delays, and lots of trips to the closest Starbucks. It's faced paced, organic, challenging, and strangely artistic. Some days are spent staring at a computer screen until 2am because we love and just can't break away. Other days are spent implementing last minute changes for a project that's scheduled to go live within 24hrs. It's a wild ride but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Other than collecting and reading X-Men comic books, web development is my one of my "favorite things". If I could give it away as a gift the way Oprah gives away her favorite things, I would. And often times we do. Check out the Philanthropy section on our website. *wink*

I'm also a big fan of all things Apple, my dog Apollo, cool watches, traveling, collecting TV seasons on DVD, and cheesy science fiction movies.
