For the past few years nearly all of our business has been generated through word of mouth advertising and referrals. This has worked very well for us so far but we are looking to expand our reach and our service offerings. Interactive Remix is currently looking to hire a part-time sales manager to help us refine and implement our sales and marketing goals for 2010 and beyond.
Responsibilities
The Sales Manager will work with our management team on all activities related to lead development, client qualification, client engagement, assessment of a client’s needs, and closure of a deal. The Sales Manager will be the first point of contact for all new customers and will also be responsible for addressing the needs and concerns of existing customers and strategic partners. The Sales Manager will get full support from the technical team in client demos, and presentations. Primary responsibilities will include:
- Present and sell company products and services to current and potential clients.
- Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made.
- Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
- Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned.
- Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts.
- Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.
- Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships.
- Prepare paperwork to activate and maintain contract services.
- Manage account services through quality checks and other follow-up.
- Identify and resolve client concerns.
- Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals.
- Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff.
- Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and telemarketing events.
- Follow-up for collection of payment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Target Audience
The Sales Manager will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of sales and marketing strategies that targeted toward small, medium, and large businesses located in the triangle region of North Carolina (Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill) and surrounding areas.

Qualifications
Proven and verifiable track record of selling software or web solutions / services is desired by not required. We have a very unique setup and we’re really looking to groom someone into filling our vacant sales and marketing position (senior management) in the summer. In the past we have hired individuals with very little web experience and helped transform them into extremely qualified web development professionals. This is a different approach to recruiting new employees but it has worked out great for us.
We really want someone that can think outside of the box. We have a lot of unique marketing plans in place for this year and we want someone who can help us enhance and implement them. With that being said, here are some of the things that are essential for this position:

Working Conditions
The Sales Manager will report directly to the President/CEO. With the exception of staff meetings, client meetings, and other job related travel, the Sales Manager will work remotely (telecommuting). However, the Sales Manager must live within the Triangle Area. The Sales Manager will be expected to be extremely accessible by phone and email. A company cell phone, email account, and resources essential to job performance will be supplied. The Sales Manager will be expected to dedicate a minimum of 10hrs a week to meet with senior management, new and existing clients, and participate in teleconferences.
Compensation
This is an hourly contract (1099) and commissioned position. The Sales Manager will be paid commission in addition to hourly wages. Applicants should submit your desired hourly wage and commission percentage with their resume and application.
